A Note from the Pastor
Thank you for visiting Amlin UMC’s web site. On behalf of the entire congregation I extend to you an always-open invitation to participate in worship and all church events/activities. Whether you are a first-time visitor, or have been part of the congregation a week, a month, or a lifetime, you are welcome to participate fully in the ministries and activities of the church.
May our experiences at Amlin UMC enrich our spiritual life, draw us closer to God, connect us with friends in Christ, and empower us to make the world a better place.

Letter From New Associate Student Pastor
One of the most amazing things that has happened to me since I began as a student at Methodist Theological School in Ohio is having this opportunity to serve you, Amlin UMC, as an Associate Student Pastor. My name is Brian West and I am a United Methodist seminary student from Mount Clemens, Michigan, starting my second year of seminary at MTSO. I am in the candidacy process through the United Methodist Church to become an ordained Elder in the Detroit Annual Conference. I cannot express just how grateful I am for your enthusiasm as a congregation to be involved with me in this aspect of my seminary education.
In talking with Pastor Casey earlier this summer, I became very impressed with the ministries Amlin UMC has been doing, the passion you all have for ministry, and your desires to continue with such fruitful work. One reason for my excitement is that, as a church, Amlin UMC seems to have paid such remarkable attention to its surrounding community and its needs. To see outreach ministries such as the ones you are all engaged in is truly heartwarming and a reassurance for me of God’s endless grace and love.
Another reason I am so excited to be a part of Amlin’s ministry is that my particular concentration in ministry is on social justice and ministry with the poor, the oppressed, and the marginalized. As I heard stories of your willingness to step out into the community and bring the wonderful news of Jesus’ promise of love, peace, grace, and joy to the world, I found myself truly energized, very much looking forward to joining you all in such a wonderful journey of Christian ministry.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your willingness to allow me into your faith community and into your ministries. It is my hope that as we all grow, learn, and serve together, that we may, time and again, experience God’s abounding grace.
May God’s blessings continue to pour upon this community of faith in order that together, we may continue to be wonderful stewards of God’s love.
Peace, Pastor Brian
